Corey Zavala

A kind, considerate eleven-year-old kid, who went from sweeping the neighborhood barbershop, to cutting family and close friend’s hair, to graduating barber school and cutting at that same shop. Struggling to establish himself and support his new and growing family, Corey, rather than abandoning his barber career, got a
second job to provide for his family. Working overnight for five years and cutting hair during the day, in a small salon suite that he shared with his wife, further fueled his desire to grow not only as barber but in the hair industry. The next stage of his career led him to one of the top barber shops of the city, Kings Barber Shop.

While there, he started to travel the country learning from top barber educators from the likes of Chris Bossio and Titan barber to name a few… This motivated him to open his own barber shop, Butlers Barber Lounge, which is now one of the most talked about barbershops in the city… The culture he has curated in the shop focuses on scenery but above all he aims to produce an environment where the quality of the cut is matched by the quality of service, creating the perfect customer experience. The craftsmanship and memorability of the shop led them to being booked out, weeks in advance.

Corey’s passion for education and generous nature prompted him to want to become an educator. He soon began to hold free classes for growing and aspiring barbers around the area. Stepping into the world of education, a vast number of opportunities to learn, give back, and teach others have been presented to Corey and he welcomes these experiences with open arms.
